Students in the Aldine Senior High School Honors Academy will experience a small and inclusive environment enriched with a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. 

All students will experience Pre-Advanced Placement and Advanced Placement courses, according to their academic abilities which will give our students rigor in preparation for college. 



The mission of the Aldine Senior High School Honors Academy is To increase the number of graduates who are prepared to enter a two or four year college or university with the academic and social skills equipped with the tools to graduate with a certificate or degree.

Our commitment to Pre-AP and AP for ALL means that all scholars graduate fully prepared for the rigors of college level work.




  • Small cohorts of students enrolled in Pre-AP, AP and Dual Credit courses, based on their academic abilities
  • Service learning opportunities embedded to secure Honor Cord at graduation
  • ACT/SAT preparation courses
  • Field Learning Experiences & College recruitment visits
  • Scholarship application workshops
  • Speaker Series and some courses taught by college professors
  • Professional Dress days
  • Character Development



The Honors Academy is looking for:

  • Students scoring MET STANDARD on the first administration of EOC/STAAR Tests


  • Students with a collegiate 3.0 student GPA


  • Students with 90%+ Attendance


  • Strong Essay Response


  • Students with Satisfactory Discipline


  • Two Strong Recommendations
    • (1 from current teacher, 1 from school personnel)

Interested students are invited to fill out the online application and an essay response by Friday, February 16, 2018. Only complete applications will be reviewed.

Students must name their essay attachments using the following structure:
