Should I Send My Kid to School?

Fever: Keep home until fever-free 24 hours without medicine.
Vomiting/Diarrhea: Keep home 24 hours after last episode.
Cough/Cold: If frequent/wet cough or trouble breathing, keep home.
Injury/Fatigue: If it limits safe participation, allow recovery.
Medications at school: Require doctor’s order + parent drop-off.  When in doubt, call the clinic—we’ll decide together.

 

Visiting the Clinic (Passes)

Green Pass: Standard clinic visits.
 Purple Pass: For ongoing/doctor-ordered care (daily treatments, medication at school, or medical accommodations). Requires a doctor’s order on file.

Important: All medications—including over-the-counter—require a doctor’s order and must be brought to the nurse by a parent/guardian (students may not carry or deliver meds).

All students must have a Parent/Guardian Consent for Health Services on file each year. This allows the nurse to provide first aid, screenings, medication administration, and emergency care.
